A lioness patiently watched two ostrich grazing towards her. Once they got closer she slowly got up and started slinking towards them. It was really a half-hearted attempt though, as she lay back down for a nap half way to the kitchen. Cats are amazing when they “slink!” (Please enlarge)
As promised yesterday…here is the little guy with his mom and sibling.
And if you missed yesterday, here you go.

If you are curious to know about this cheetah kill in Phinda, SA check this out:
If you are ever as blessed as I have been to see cheetahs in the wild, you will understand when I tell you I cannot look away. I shot this solitary cheetah in Lewa Downs, Kenya. She had a small, bloody injury on her leg and seemed to be resting in the tall grass, although very attentive to the scents being carried by the breeze. (Hopefully not the socks I had been wearing for 3 days…) I wanted to capture the elegance of her profile with that gorgeous tear marking and the light just catching the tip of her nose. She kept perfectly still but took over the art direction by turning her head ever so slightly, revealing to me just the tips of the eyelashes on the opposite side. Clearly she had done this before…
