Ghostly Great White Egret
These were taken around 6:15 am one morning when the marsh was blanketed in fog. It was eerie and beautiful–and so quiet. I came round a bend and saw a great white egret standing out in the shallow water but only had a moment to swing my camera up and fire off some shots before it flew off, landed briefly, and took off again. It was an otherwordly experience–this great white bird gracefully lifting off and floating deeper into the fog, it’s enormous wings, moving in slow motion. (click to enlarge)
