Two heads are better than one…

I came across this gorgeous iguana sunning itself on the side of the road the other morning. Certainly it was the largest I have ever seen-at least 3.5-4 feet. I think he is a green iguana based on location, but have never seen this kind of coloring. (Please correct me lizard people) I was so excited to finally see something I thought I would lie down on my belly and have some face-to-face time communing together. Unfortunately I didn’t get many shots as some yahoos came barreling down the little road and scared the shit out of both of us. (click to enlarge to get a better look.)

A first for me today! While I have seen basilisk lizards before, I had never actually seen their “running on water” hijinks! Yesterday we saw a pair of these Jesus Christ lizards run across a small pond and crawl up on a branch. Extraordinary to watch. So fast as they scoot right across the water surface. (If you are unfamiliar, it is worth Googling Jesus Christ lizards to watch some video)
