White-faced capuchin sneaking a drink in the mangroves of Costa Rica. He would stretch his long arm down into the water, scoop up a handful and then drink from his palm. I was fascinated with his ling fingers.
Look who was hanging out sleeping in a tree over-hanging my boat in a mangrove in Costa Rica… Lovely sleeping nice boa with a cute little black tail.
Not sure I minded so much when the closest I got to a boa, it was sleeping and I was awake. Frankly, the reverse could have really sucked. (Costa Rican mangrove boa aka black tail tree boa.)
There are just certain things you prefer to see from a boat…like Mr. Caiman here, hiding in the mangroves. Note the teeth piercing through the upper mouth.
We were in a mangrove in Costa Rica when we came across this snowy egret creeping down low under the tree branch. I had never seen a a heron or egret this deep in water.
