An enormous social weaver nest in the Namib Rand desert. These nests can have up to 100 separate chambers each with individual entrances. You thought your condo had thin walls…
Incredible moment catching this rufous tailed hummingbird sitting in her nest. She builds the nest with moss, leaves and spiderwebs and covers the outside with lichen and bark. She will lay 2 eggs and will incubate them for about 15-18 days. Very special sighting!
I came across 5 oropendola nests today-all in progress! There could be oropendola spam this week… :-)
A Hallmark moment in the woods…or possibly squirrel porn, depending on your personal sappy or sexual sensibilities.
